The company will soon launch an Internet radio station in which Tamil, Telugu and Hindi movie songs will be made available.Hummaa Infotainment's founder and chief executive officer Vijay Fernando said about 90 per cent of their activities would focus on promoting aspiring musicians. "While we want to make our site the one stop destination for music content, we are eager to provide a platform for aspiring musicians."Apart from nurturing individual musicians, the website would facilitate formation of virtual bands."The singer could be based out of Chennai. The lyricist could be in London and the composer, in the U.S. Together, they can cut an album and we will launch it." The company will help work out royalty deals for them.
Formerly with Yahoo as business development manager, Mr. Fernando has over a decade's experience in leading companies, including Intel and Oracle. "The site is in its bare minimal (alpha) stage right now. The final product will be ready in the next few days."Founded by Mr. Fernando with IT professionals Mandeep Makkar and Vijayalakshmi Sinha, the website was the first legal portal for online music in India, he claimed.Playback singers Naresh Iyer and Krish will drive the branding activity.With investments from U.S.-based Hitch Factory and veterans in the marketing segment on their advisory board, the website hopes to strike the right note.
