Grama sabha meetings held @ Perambalur

Special grama sabha meetings were held on Wednesday in 65 village panchayats selected for the implementation of Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam in the district.The District Collector, Anil Meshram, and the Project Officer, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), S. Ayyaru, participated in the meetings at Alambadi and Ammapalayam panchayats in Perambalur union limits.

The president of Alambadi village panchayat, Ravichandran, presided over the meeting at Senjeri. He said that the Government has allocated Rs. 20 lakh for implementing various development works. It has been planned to construct drainages in five streets, lay cement roads, install streetlights at 15 points, develop Senjeri Muniyankulam, create a playground at Adi Dravidar Welfare High School and three cremation stages at cremation grounds.

The meeting at Ammapalayam panchayat was presided over by president Chitra Ayyakannu. Mr. Meshram inspected a pond selected for fish breeding and also the ongoing works on the construction of library building, group houses and anganwadi buildings. The chairman of the Perambalur panchayat union, K. Periasamy, spoke.
