Garbage blocks flow of sewage

Erode:Garbage has blocked the flow of sewage in Sanarpathy near Pariyur.Garbage has arrested the flow of sewage in Sarnarpathy area near Gobichettipalayam and the gutter water has started flowing over the causeway bridge in the area, affected the flow of traffic.The Keeripallam odai flows in the heart of Gobichettipalayam and the municipal sewage and waste water from various hotels, industries and other institutions are merging with the water in the Keeripallam odai.

Near Sanarpathy, it merges with the Bhavani river. But in Sanarpathy area near Pariyur, the sewage is flowing through a small pipeline installed below the causeway.But due to plastic materials and garbage thrown in the sewage in the odai, the flow of water has been arrested and the sewage is overflowing on to the causeway.Because of this, the traffic on the causeway has been affected. The villagers have appealed to the district administration to construct a high level bridge and remove the causeway.

They have also appealed for cleaning up the Keeripallam odai and ban the throwing of plastic materials and other garbage and debris into the odai.People in the area told on Tuesday that during the rainy season no one could cross the area because two to three feet of water would stagnate over the causeway.Further, various sharp materials and thorns would remain in the causeway, creating injuries to persons crossing the road, resulting in vehicles getting punctured. To alleviate this problem, the Government should take a positive step to raise the road.
