Protest against powercut

Salem:Members of Democratic Youth Federation of India protesting against frequent disruptions in power supply in Salem on Monday.Members of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) staged a demonstration in front of the Collectorate on Monday protesting against the frequent disruptions in the power supply in the city.

Claiming that officials `unofficially' resort to the frequent power shutdowns in the city, which has left people to face difficulties, the members urged the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board to set up a monitoring committee to sort out the problems in electricity distribution. The State Government should increase the investment in the board to generate more power to meet the growing requirement. Members carried lanterns to protest against the `unofficial' power shutdowns in the city.
