Incentives for vermicompost and manure manufacturing
To help people start new business ventures, Khadi and Village Industries Commission is arranging loans to the tune of Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 2,00,000 through nationalised banks.This is for those involved in preparation of vermicompost or natural manure. This is offered to those living in villages with a population of less than 20,000. Those interested in commencing such ventures could apply in person to the District Industries Centre at Sivaganga on July 19, according to Divisional Director, S.R. Nayak. The KVIC has a social objective of providing employment and an economic objective of producing saleable articles. The divisional office here is implementing the Central Government’s Rural Employment Generation Programme in southern districts.Interested entrepreneurs belonging to the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, physically disabled, minorities and women would get 30 per cent of their project capital as subsidy. Those belonging to general category would be provided 25 per cent of their capital investment as subsidy.
