New water supply augmentation scheme
Tiruchi:The Rs.99-crore drinking water supply augmentation scheme, which is to be executed soon, would ensure equitable supply to all parts of the city, especially the newly added residential colonies, the Mayor Sarubala R.Tondaiman has said.Interacting with residents of Aishwarya Estate, Aishwarya Garden and Aishwarya Extension areas in Golden Rock zone here on Monday, Mrs.Tondaiman said steps would be taken to supply water through tankers wherever there was short supply.This would be a temporary arrangement till the scheme was executed, she said responding to complaints from residents that water was being supplied through public tap in the area only for limited periods.The Mayor also instructed the Corporation officials to take steps to identify private donors for renovating and maintaining the Kamaraj Park near Airport in the city. She directed the officials to expedite the blacktopping of the kutcha roads in some areas sanctioned at a cost of Rs.35 lakh.
