Repair works at Meenakshi temple
MADURAI: The repair and strengthening works for an estimated cost of Rs 1.5 crore have begun on those portions of Meenakshi Sundareswarar temple, where cracks were observed sometime ago.
The works commenced on Sunday with a ‘ganapathy pooja’.According to the temple administration sources, the works would be completed within two years.
“Special care is being taken so that the temple’s sanctity and heritage value is maintained during the works,” said Swaminathan, joint commissioner of Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple
