AFM Organising 10 day Children's Film Festival

The Alliance Francaise of Madras (AFM) has organised a 10-day Children's Film Festival with English sub-titles from May 21-31 at the AFM. The shows are at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and all are welcome.It's child's play, said an AFM spokesperson talking about the Children's Film Festival at the AFM auditorium.The AFM Library has a newly-opened space for children between 8 and 14 years to help them discover and learn French through songs and nursery rhyrnes (Emilie Jolie), picture books (Editions Bayard Jeunesse, Gallimard Jeunesse. Folio Junior), comics (Tintin, Asterix, Lucky Luke, Boule et Bill), magazines for younger readers (J'aime Lire, Okapi, Geo Ado, Les Belles Histoires, Phosphore) and movies sub-titled in English with wireless headphones (Kirikou, Tintin. Asterix).To mark the opening, 10 days of animation and children's films (with English sub-titles) will be screened at the AFM Auditoriurn.

Following is the schedule:
May 21:11 a.m.: Tintin/The Castafiore Emerald: Bianca Castafiore is coming to the castle of Moulinsart with lots of journalists. Her jewels will be very coveted.
4 p.m.: Asterix/The 12 Tasks Of Asterix: Caesar throws down a challenge to the Gaulish inhabitants to prove they're not invincible.
May 22: 11 a.m.: Tintin/ The Secret of the Unicorn: Three models of the ship La Licorne will lead Tintin to the treasure of a pirate.
4 p.m.: Tintin/Red Rackham's Treasure: Tintin and his friends go in search of the treasure of Rackham le Rouge. an ancestor of Haddock's.
May 23: 11 a.m.: Asterix/Asterix the Gaul: The Romans try to discover the Gaul's secret for invincibility.
4 p.m.: Tintin/ Tintin in America: Tintin arrives in America and will pursue Chicago's most famous bandits.
May 24: 11 a.m.: Asterix/Asterix & Cleopatra: Asterix and Obelix will help the architect Numerobis to build a sumptuous palace for Cleopatra in only three months.
4 p.m.: Tintin/ Flight 714: Tintin will meet millionaire Laszlo Carreidas during a stopover and their travel to Sydney will become a real adventure.
May 25:11 a.m.: Tintin/The Mysterious Star: A huge fireball in the sky threatens the Earth. The end of the world? Tintin will investigate to discover the truth.
4 p.m.: Asterix/Asterix and the Indians: Asterix and Obelix will try to free the druid Panoramix from the Romans.
May 26:11 a.m.: Tintin/Destination Moon: Tintin and his friends will be implicated in the building of a huge rocket, which is expected to go on the Moon.
4 p.m.: Tintin/Explorers on the Moon: On board the rocket, Tintin will have to face many obstacles before walking on the moon.
May 27:11 a.m.: Tintin/The 7 Crystal Balls: The members of a scientific expedition are hit by a mysterious Inca malediction.
4 p.m.: Tintin/Prisoners of the Sun: Professor Tournesol has been captured. Tintin will go to Peru to release his friend.
May 28:11 a.m:. Kirikou and the Sorceress: Kirikou, an African newborn, will try to free his village from a curse called down by a terrible witch.
4 p.m.: Raining Cats and Frogs: A new flood is devastating the Earth. Humans and animals will be dragged into an extraordinary adventure.
May 29:11 a.m.: Black Mor Island: A boy escapes from his orphanage to set off in search of an island where a supposed treasure is hidden.
4 p.m.: Kirikou and the Wild Beasts: An old grandfather explains to us how Kirikou became gardener, detective, traveller, doctor.
May 30:11 a.m.: Raining Cats and Frogs: A new flood is devastating the Earth. Humans and animals will be dragged into an extraordinary adventure.
