E-governance to all govt.depats soon

T.K. Tripathy has sought the cooperation of government employees in extending e-governance to all departments."The Tamil Nadu Government and its employees are known to deliver results. Our main aim is to provide good governance," Mr. Tripathy told the eighth State-level Conference of the Tamil Nadu Government Employees Association (TNGEA), at Madhavaram on Wednesday.


The Government was in the process of providing a big push to computerisation and introducing the concept of e-governance to serve the people, he said and appealed to the employees to work together and provide courteous service to those seeking help. The Government was concerned about the employees' welfare and it took several corrective measures to heal the "deep wounds" inflicted on the employees last year.Mr. Tripathy said the Government's main focus was to improve the morale of the employees, and it intended to do this by motivating them at their work spots."If you have any problem or difficulty at the workplace, please do tell us and we are accessible", Mr. Tripathy said listing out several people friendly measures taken by the Government.




T.S. Sridhar, Special Secretary, Personnel and Administrative Officers, while outlining the welfare measures of the employees, enumerated the steps initiated by the Government in filling over 1.5 lakh vacant posts.State Public Secretary S. Adiseshiah appealed to the employees to bring in more transparency in rendering public service.Sugumal Sen, general secretary, AISGEF, inaugurated the three-day conference.C. Kuppuswami, MP; T.K. Rengarajan, all India vice-president, CITU; S.S. Thyagarajan, general Secretary, AITUC; N. Parvadarajan, general secretary, Tamil Nadu Primary School Teachers Federation; K. Pandurangan, president, Secretariat Sangam; president of the Reception Committee and general secretary, CITU, A. Soundararajan; and K. Rajkumar, State president of the TNGEA, were among those who spoke.The valedictory of the conference will be held on Island Grounds on May 18. Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi and Electricity Minister Arcot N. Veerasamy will participate.
