Thanjavur: A sales target of Rs. 3 lakh has been fixed for Poompuhar exhibition, which was inaugurated at the showroom here on Wednesday.N. Ganesan, Secretary and Correspondent of Bharath College of Science and Management, declared it open.
Handicrafts from various States are on display.The exhibition will be held till May 31.Price range of the articles varies from Rs. 2 to Rs. 68,000. Panchaloka idols, bronze lamps from Madurai, Thanjavur art plates, stone sculptures, Thanjavur paintings, paper toys, `chappals' made of coconut fibre, handloom saris, dhoties and `chunkadi' saris are on display.N. Palanisamy, Regional Manager of Poompuhar, and K. Chidambaranathan, Manager, Poompuhar showroom, were present.
