Vellore:One thousand five hundred final year B.Tech. and postgraduate students of the VIT University have been recruited by blue-chip companies during campus interviews conducted on the university campus this year.
According to a release from R. Nandakummar, Public Relations Officer of the university, the selected students will be joining the companies in June/July 2008 with salaries ranging from Rs.3.15 lakh to Rs.3.3 lakh per annum.Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) alone recruited 789 students at the campus selection held from June 7 to 9, as against 525 VIT University students selected by the company last year.Girls secured a high percentage of placements compared to their proportional strength in the VIT university.
