Tiruchi:Transport Minister K.N. Nehru presenting a regularising order to an employee of the Tiruchi Corporation on Friday.Four hundred and nine non-muster roll employees of the Tiruchi Corporation, whose services were regularised by the Government recently, were issued the appointment orders by the Transport Minister K.N. Nehru here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Nehru said that the Government had regularised the services of 4,000 such workers in the Corporations in the State. The Government had also ordered that fresh recruitments be made on seniority basis, except in a few departments.He also said that the Transport Department had recently paid Rs.8 crore of rental arrears it owed to the Corporation.
The Mayor Sarubala R.Tondaiman said that those regularised now in the Corporation included 337 daily wage employees and 60 unskilled workers serving the Corporation. Many of them were working in the civic body for nearly 30 years, she said.The Deputy Mayor M.Anbazhagan, the Commissioner B.Balachandran, the Appointments Committee Chairman C.Kannan and others participated in the function.
