Barnala inaugurates multi-theme painting exhibition

Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala taking a look at the paintings of Airport director Dinesh Kumar in Chnenai on Wednesday.Governor Surjit Singh Barnala on Wednesday drew a few strokes on a canvas.They soon took the shape of a mountain range and he signed below it to inaugurate an exhibition of a collection of paintings, sketches and photographs by Chennai Airport Director Dinesh Kumar, at the Lalit Kala Akademi.

The Governor, along with his son Jasjit Singh Barnala and grand daughter Ayesha Sandhu, also painters, took a look at the exhibition, which had pictures with spirituality, beauty and nature as their themes.For Mr. Kumar, his experiments on the canvas were born out of his spiritual and life experiences since 1990. “I am free, my mind is free, so I paint freely,” he explained.The exhibition, which will be on till June 17, include titles such as The Beauty Youth and Slender, Panchabhuta – The Divine Eye, Time Horse Unstoppable by Hurdles, Fire, The Dream, Peaks and Green Pastures, among several others.


Chief Secretary L.K. Tripathy and U.S. Consul General in south India David T. Hopper were present.Mr. Barnala also visited an ongoing exhibition on the ground floor of Lalit Kala Akademy.The exhibition by the members of the AZR Painters Club is on till Thursday.
