Damaged road @ Manickkampalayam

The road at Manickkampalayam in Erode, leading to the Housing Board, Colony, is in damaged condition.The road in Manickkampalayam housing unit, Erode, requires immediate attention by the Periyasemur Municipality and also the district administration.

About two decades ago, the Manickkampalayam Housing Unit was formed and hundreds of houses were built there.The housing unit authorities have laid roads inside the Housing unit area and also constructed drainage.But unfortunately, the roads leading to the Manickkampalayam Housing Unit had not been laid properly by the local municipality, then a panchayat.

Nagarajan, a Government employee told,“My close relatives are residing in the housing unit for the past fifteen years."They are working in Government offices. But they have to cross the damaged roads."No representation is made by them with the district administration.”Further, every day many Government officials and Ministers are crossing the road, which links Nasiyanure road with Manickkampalayam Elementary School Road.

Nothing had been done for the past several years.The vehicle drivers say, “It is unfortunate and not known why the municipality is not taking any initiative to lay the road.”Municipal officials when asked about the matter, were reluctant to make any comment.

The general public wanted the local minister to grant some money from his MLA constituency fund and develop the road.If this was done, many vehicle owners and pedestrians would be thankful to the Minister, the local people said.
