Otteri fish market would be renovated

Chennai: Mayor M. Subramanian on Thursday announced that the fish market in Nammalwarpet near Otteri would be renovated at a cost of about Rs. 9 lakh.After inspection of the market, he said tenders have been called for upgrading the market's infrastructure. He made the visit to Nammalwarpet in Ward 59 after the councillor Devi of the Communist Party of India-Marxist said civic works were not given due attention.

The Mayor said Rs.90,000 would be spent to improve water and sanitation facilities in a Corporation health centre in the ward. Local Administration Minister M.K. Stalin would inaugurate a local community centre renovated at a cost of Rs. 36.30 lakh next week. Road works worth Rs. 53.69 lakh have also been planned for the locality.
