Starting mid-2007,students in south India will have the chance to study courses offered by India's largest media group - The Times of India. The Times Centre of Media Studies (TCMS),an independent company affiliated to The Times of India group and located in Delhi,has a license agreement with Access Atlantech Technologies (I) Ltd,a leader in media and entertainment technology training,to offer the one-year postgraduate programme in Marketing Management and Journalism.AAT will conduct the two programmes of TCMS in south India at its campuses in Chennai,Bangalore and Hyderabad.

The one-year specialisation in marketing is designed to suit the business needs of the communication and media sector.The programme enables students to appreciate the socio-economic and political environment,acquire state-of-the-art knowledge and skills.It includes general management,marketing and communications management courses,which include internships. The faculty will comprise selected members of the academia and successful practitioners from across India.Continuous evaluation of students is designed to identify strengths and weaknesses.Class participation,project internships are significantly weighted in the overall grading structure.

The postgraduate diploma in journalism is designed around the classroom and a six months internship at the Times Group,where students are paid a stipend and are involved with the process of content gathering.On completion of a year at the school they are absorbed into the company depending on their performance.
