Tamil Nadu government has convened an all-party meeting on May 22 to discuss the expansion plans of Chennai airport.Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today sent invitations to leaders of various political parties to this effect, an official press release here said.
Residents of nearby villages of the airport had been opposing acquisition of land for the proposed expansion work.PMK founder S Ramadoss has opposed the expansion alleging that it would displace thousands of residents.He had been demanding a new greenfield airport far off from the present airport.
