50% Discount @ book exhibition

Chennai:Students having a look at Madras University publications on Thursday.An exhibition of Madras University publications, which opened here on Thursday, offers 50 per cent discount on the books, some of them rare research works that are not available in the market.The exhibition, being held at the Centenary Building on the Chepauk campus, as part of the university’s 150th anniversary celebrations, will be on till July 16. Vice-Chancellor S. Ramachandran inaugurated it.
Lexicons and books on a range of subjects in different languages, including Telugu and Hindi, will be available at half their price as part of a clearance sale, according to university officials.Noting that around 240 titles are on display at the exhibition, Mr. Ramachandran said many more publications of the university would be available during the valedictory of the anniversary in September this year.The university was planning to bring out 150 publications this year out of which 16 were released sometime ago by President APJ Abdul Kalam.
Publications on Tamil literature, history, economics, music, archaeology, law, philosophy and religion are on display.The eng-Tamil dictionary, the Tamil lexicon and the translation of the ‘Silappadhikaram’ in Hindi are among the titles available.According to the officials, the display includes some rare research works that would be sold at an unbeatable price.
